The kitchen is generally regarded as the center of a home, so creating a good atmosphere in this room can be important. But we often get tired of looking at the same space over and over. There are actually many minor changes that can be made to spruce up the look of your kitchen. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
1. Add new curtains.
Adding new curtains is a very simple, inexpensive task. If you like to sew, find a quick pattern and some fabric and create some new ones for your kitchen. If you don’t know how to sew and you’re on a budget, you can still make new curtains for your kitchen, like these ones:
2. Display old recipes.
This is a fun way to bring history and art into your kitchen. We love the quick tutorial that this woman created when hanging her mother-in-law’s family recipes, found here.
Dishwashers easily get scratched and dinged in any household and replacing them can get expensive. If your dishwasher still works well internally, you could still consider fixing up the outside a bit. This family discovered a way to effectively cover a dishwasher with bead board and gave it a whole new look.
4. Silhouette Plates.
This project is so simple and beautiful. Essentially, you take a profile picture and then trace it onto chalkboard contact paper. Place the contact paper onto a plate and then use plate hangers to place them on the wall. We like this project because it’s easy, inexpensive, and creative.
